Specific Services Supplied to SLOC
IKANO will provide all data-networking services and accompanying support for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. This high-performance Olympic data network will be used to aggregate data and information from Olympic events and then distribute the information to Olympic staff, athletes, officials, the host broadcaster, and the Salt Lake Olympic Organizing Committee (SLOC) Web site.
Information distributed over the network will include event schedules and real-time results, athlete profiles, weather and performance data. IKANO is currently building, configuring, testing, managing and maintaining a data network capable of supporting all the integral technology functions of the Games. The network will be available at all venues, many of which will stage events simultaneously.
IKANO will supply 25 engineers, more than 34,000 man-hours, totaling nearly $5 million.

About IKANO's Olympic Partnership
IKANO Communications is proud to be the Official Data Networking Services Supplier for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
Delivering the highest caliber technology solutions available, IKANO will provide all data-networking services and accompanying support for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. This high-performance Olympic data network will be used to aggregate data and information from Olympic events and then distribute the information to Olympic staff, athletes, officials, the host broadcaster, and the Salt Lake Organizing Committee (SLOC) Web site at www.saltlake2002.com.

Over 900 switches, 120 routers, 150 T1 lines, 11 T3 lines, 12 network management stations, firewalls, cache engines, a few load balancing servers and nearly two years of preparation and testing assure that the IKANO-supported Olympic data network will deliver a gold medal performance in February 2002 during its 17 days of operation.

The People Behind IKANO
Henry Smith, President and CEO, Founder
Henry Smith co-founded IKANO in 1999, as the parent company of SISNAź*, one of the nation's leading Internet Service Providers. Under Smith's leadership, IKANO has become the market-leading provider of branded Internet Services. SISNAź is the leading Internet Service Provider in the Rocky Mountain Region, with an Internet telecommunications infrastructure that spans 16 states.
Before launching IKANO, Smith served as Vice President of Engineering and Director of Digital Courier Technologies (which purchased SISNA in 1997), an Internet software and e-commerce company located in San Francisco, Calif. and Park City, Utah.
Smith is a recognized leader throughout the Internet industry. He was a featured speaker at Comdex to a forum of top CEOs. Smith has a BS degree in Engineering from the University of Utah. He has also completed several years of graduate work and is currently working on his thesis.
* SISNAź was founded by Smith in 1994, based on Smith's initial company, A&S Technologies, founded in 1991.
Garth Howard, Former President and COO
Garth Howard is a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of senior management experience. As president and COO of IKANO, Howard manages the strategic direction and daily operations of sales, marketing, finance, Customer Relationship Management, creative, and the call center.
Most recently, Howard served as president of custom solutions for Convergys' Customer Management Group. (Convergys is the global leader in outsourced customer care.) Howard was responsible for managing more than 12,000 employees and a budget of $415 million in the company's outsourced call center and help desk operations, which support many of the company's Fortune 500 clients. Prior to that, Howard served as senior vice president of corporate strategy at Convergys as well as president of the Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) business unit. His responsibilities included overseeing the company's strategic direction in the DBS market with an emphasis on maintaining and providing customer service and sales support for DIRECTV, the nation's leading direct broadcast service.
Before joining Convergys, Mr. Howard served in senior level positions with Key Bank, Fidelity Investments and American Express. Mr. Howard earned his bachelor of science degree from Brigham Young University and his masters in business administration from the University of Utah.
Bob Donohoo, Former Senior Network Engineer
Robert Donohoo is methodically building an organization of network engineers to install and support the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games data network. The results of this yearlong effort include six specialized and highly trained teams that are successfully installing networks in traditional data centers as well as unusual sites from ski slopes to parking lots. Many of these locations are leased for a short period of time and require a flawless installation for immediate operation even though the installation window is short. The skills on this team that make this data network possible include routing and switching, network security, database and web development, and network monitoring.
