Title: MEMBER OF IKANO CREATIVE TEAM WINS DISTINGUISHED AWARD
AS PART OF ANNUAL ADDY AWARDS HOSTED BY THE UTAH ADVERTISING

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- IKANO’S top-notch creative team continues to produce award-winning work.
Erin Burrell, Web designer in the creative department at IKANO
communications, has won a prestigious award as a result of the Utah
Advertising Federation’s annual ADDY competition. Contending against two
other finalists, Erin won the award for Best Interactive Media. The
competition is conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation
(AAF) and is the first round in a three-series national contest. The ADDY
awards are the industry's largest and most representative competition for
creative talent.
When asked what meant the most in receiving the award, Erin replied, “The
ability to bring recognition to IKANO and show that we are a first-rate
creative department with a lot of talent to offer to our clients. It also
helps knowing that I am putting time into something the client appreciates,
kind of like I’m solving a problem for them and creating a solution.”
Erin continued, “The best way to describe the process of work we go through
is kind of like delivering a creative approach to our client’s ideas. I get
to interpret a business idea into an art image.” As one of Erin’s very first
Flash projects, the award-winning site took many late nights, a total of
three months, to bring the assignment to completion. “Hard work and long
hours definitely pay off when working for our branded partners. Besides
that, it’s cool to develop a creative product to fulfill our clients basic
needs,” he said. Among the entrants, Burrell was the only finalist who
worked on the design individually without assistance from additional team
members.
He will now be eligible for entry into the American Advertising Federation’s
District 12 competition, which is the second level of the three-tier
competition. The District 12 competition includes advertising clubs in Utah,
Arizona, Colorado, El Paso, TX, New Mexico, and Wyoming. The winners from
this level will then be eligible to advance on to the American Advertising
Federation’s national competition. The next judging will take place in
Tucson, AZ.
