IKANO Press Releases:
Title: FORMER STATE SENATOR RON SLOTIN JOINS IKANO COMMUNICATIONS
Date: February 23, 2001
For Release: IMMEDIATE
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- IKANO, the market-leading IP network infrastructure company and provider of branded Internet services, recently announced the appointment of former Georgia State Senator Ron Slotin as Director of Business Development.
Slotin recently opened IKANO's southeastern office in Atlanta. Slotin is working with companies, organizations, and affinity groups to provide Internet access and related services to their customers or members on a private label basis. In addition, Slotin helps Internet Service Providers decrease their subscriber costs while expanding their geographic reach and offering a broader array of products and services.
"The next step in the Internet evolution is for companies and organizations to have their own branded Internet service for their employees, customers and members. By having their own Internet service, these companies can communicate with those people on a regular basis and drive traffic to their portal sites," said Slotin.
Slotin served in the Georgia State Senate from 1992 to 1996, representing the City of Atlanta. He was well known for his "Votin' for Slotin" slogan.
After politics, Slotin served as Manager of New Business Development in Brazil for Brightpoint, Inc., a leading provider of outsourced services to the wireless communications industry. Before joining IKANO, Slotin served as Regional Sales Manager for Netsurfer, an Atlanta-based software development company.
Henry Smith, president and CEO of IKANO, commented, "Ron offers a unique combination of public leadership and proven business development history. We feel fortunate to have him on board as part of our business development team."
