IKANO to Provide Data Networking Services for the Salt Lake Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2002 - IKANO will Configure, Deploy and Support IP Network for 2002 Winter Games

SALT LAKE CITY, UT -- IKANO Communications, a market-leading management service provider, has been named the Official Data Networking Services Supplier for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2002 by the Salt Lake Organizing Committee (SLOC).

As the managed service provider, IKANO will provide the data-networking services and support for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The Olympic Network will be used to aggregate data and information from the Olympic events and Olympic Village and then distribute the information to Olympic staff, athletes, officials, the host broadcaster, and the Olympic website at www.saltlake2002.com. Information distributed over the network includes event schedules and real-time results, athlete profiles, weather and performance data.

IKANO signed its agreement with the Olympic Properties of the United States (OPUS) the joint marketing effort between SLOC and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). The announcement was made at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center by Henry Smith, President and CEO of IKANO Communications, and SLOC representatives Dave Busser, Chief Information Officer and Alice Mahmood, Managing Director of Information Services.
