What Is NetFAQs?
IKANO has developed its own self-help system for customers to avoid calls to the Call Center Tech Support for help configuring their various Internet programs such as e-mail and connection settings.
Netfaqs.com is the underlying data engine for serving up Private-Label ISP help for our partners. These branded websites provide tutorials and screen shots for setting up a wide variety of mail programs, ISP connection settings, filtering configurations, FTP programs and even some basic website design tutorials.
Do People Actually Use NetFAQs?
Even though IKANO doesn't promote NetFAQs outside of the websites developed for its partners, the word has gotten out to the Internet. It has become an industry standard for ISP support pages.
During 2002, there were over 24,000,000 visits averaging over 2,000,000 per month.
From 01/01/02 - 01/01/03, NetFAQs had a total Over 8.5 million unique visitors in 2002 averaging over 700,000 per month.
Repeat visitors come back an average of 5.22 times in a month.
Over 15,000 files (not all public) with 489 MB of material and 44,631 hyperlinks were part of NetFAQs as of 01/01/03.
The latest upgrades to the NetFAQ system include French & Spanish translation of NetFAQs making it the most comprehensive Internet support in the world.
What Operating Systems Are Covered?
NetFAQs covers all PC operating systems from Windows 95 to present. It also covers Macintosh configurations from System 7.1 to the latest Mac OSX system as well as Lindows. There are over 15,000 files in that domain although only 1,731 of those files are publicly accessible. IKANO continuously updates the material in NetFAQs as new operating system and program updates become available.
How Does NetFAQs Benefit IKANO's Partners?
NetFAQs prevents the expense of subscribers having to call tech support for help setting up their ISP services. This lowers telephone and personnel costs which enables IKANO to provide top-notch support to its customers.
